A Study of the Physical Characteristics of Polynucleotides by the Analysis of H¹ NMR

Abstract

|
Ultra-high-resolution proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectra at 400 MHz have been used to investigate the base-pairing structure for the following polynucleotides; poly A; poly U, and poly A-poly U from RNA. The observed resonance spectrum agrees quite well with the prediction. The agreement confirms the predicted resonance position at 114.-5ppm.
The observed resonances are found at i4.5ppm within that there is no interactions, except those taken into ±0.3 part per million, showing account in the compatation, to
explain the chemical shift of NMR
